Bass Whisperer Tone Test:

Zon Sonus and Mosaic Standard 5 string

These are two brand new offerings from Joe Zon's imported line. The Standard series features wood necks, and passive or active operation.

Sound Samples

Here are a few samples taken from my extensive recordings of these instruments. They will all eventually be online at ZonGuitars.Com, along with recordings of the entire Zon product line, but I thought I'd give you a little taste of these wonderful and affordable basses!

They were recorded into ProTools direct using a passive Radial Engineering ProDI with Analysis Plus Bass Oval cable. No additional eq was used, and only minimal compression.

For a pickstyle rock sample, I played the Mosaic Std 5 through my Line 6 Bass PodPro with a crunchy Ampeg SVT model. Again, both pickups, active mode.
